Ingrid Van Oostrom
Hi there!
Yoga means one-ness or union and it is so much more than only postures. When practising classical yoga regularly - postures, meditation, relaxation, breathing, yoga nidra, and mindfulness and philosophy in daily life - we become aware of the one-ness between body, mind, and spirit. Our practice on the mat helps us to understand how we hold ourselves also off the mat. By practising yoga we gain self-awareness which enables us to process experiences, navigate challenges, be present, love ourselves, and to live life to the fullest. It is holistic self-care.
My classes consist of a mix of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing), meditation, mantra, and yoga nidra. Philosophy is woven in throughout classes.
I absolutely love teaching yoga as I see transformation in students within a session whether it is a challenging yin class, a wholesome traditional yoga class, a lovely and relaxing yoga nidra, or a short mantra and meditation practise. Yoga is for every body and everyone no matter the level of experience or the amount of time available.
In 2015 I was made redundant and decided to travel to New Zealand to study traditional (also known as classical) yoga. What a learning curve! I have been teaching yoga since June 2015 and am combining it with my passions: Gardening and helping others to achieve their goals and create a magical holistic life through life coaching.
Learning never stops and I have deepened my yoga knowledge gaining additional qualifications in yin yoga, mantra and meditation, yoga nidra, and personal training.
All these practices are powerful and I am looking forward to share them with you.
See you soon on the mat!
