My Journey

There are many paths to healthy living. Yoga and mindfulness are the tools that have inspired me, and this is the path I share with my students, friends, and family.

Having grown up in Kazakhstan in a world of strict discipline and high expectations — where success was often measured by comparison — I understand very well how discouraging it may be to start yoga when we feel the need to compare ourself to others. I do not come from a dance or gymnastics background, so my journey is similar to that of an 'average' yogi. I have been navigating my own physical injuries and challenges of fibromyalgia, and I can very much empathise with those who are looking for inspiration in yoga to improve their wellbeing.

In a world full of distractions, it is easy to lose discipline around our routines and priorities. My intention is to guide you back to balance and to support everyone who, like myself, has embarked on this patient journey of self-discovery.

Teaching Philosophy

I share a mindful approach to living, integrating ancient yogic traditions, Ayurveda, Stoic wisdom, and the Chinese philosophy of the Five Elements. I encourage students to explore what they may be missing in the present moment by complementing traditional teachings with tools that address modern challenges.

🧘 Asana Practice:

I am committed to making yoga accessible for everyone, especially those navigating chronic pain, stress, or physical limitations. Rooted in the Iyengar tradition, my teachings incorporate the intelligent use of props to create a safe, balanced space where you can explore your limits with patience and awareness.

I really enjoyed Elvira’s Asana Lab. The focus on stretching the trunk and the backs of the legs felt incredibly effective and well balanced. Her guidance was clear and detailed, helping me deepen the stretches safely and with good awareness. I left the class feeling much more spacious and released, especially in all the places that tend to get tight from too much sitting.
