Being a student is tough due to academic pressure, financial worries, and balancing studies with personal life. Juggling these demands often leads to stress and burnout.
Practising yoga and other wellness activities can help students stay calm under pressure and perform better during exams. They learn to breathe, stretch, and relax to be in top form for these challenging years.
Practising in person will help students connect and have a good time while staying at your site, increasing their chances of returning next year.
We provide sessions on the following six wellness activities: Flow Yoga, Desk Yoga, Breathwork, Pilates, Meditation, and Sound Bath. We also offer yoga discovery programs for other types of yoga: Kundalini, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Yin, Somatic yoga, and Restorative yoga.
Flow Yoga is a type of yoga practised in most yoga studios and gyms across the UK. It involves a series of poses that smoothly transition from one to another, coordinated with breathing. This practice can be very dynamic, but it's also known as Hatha Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga. It's designed to break a sweat and build strength, flexibility, and mindfulness.
Breathing exercises involve consciously controlling the breath to improve mental and physical well-being. Techniques range from deep breathing to more structured exercises like the 4-7-8 method.
Desk Yoga consists of simple stretches and poses that can be performed at the desk, making it ideal for breaking up long periods of sitting. It is best to have it online in a university or a student accommodation building with hundreds of students so more people can attend. Everyone can practise from their room live stream. There is no need for a mat! Once students learn how to practice at their desks, they can do it throughout the day.
Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility. It focuses on core strength, balance, and stability.
Meditation is a practice where an individual uses techniques such as mindfulness or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought, or activity to train attention and awareness, achieving a mentally clear and emotionally calm state. We provide guided meditation sessions by one of our experienced teachers for 30 minutes to one hour.
A sound bath is a form of sound therapy where participants are "bathed" in the sound waves of gongs and singing bowls, creating a deeply meditative state. It’s an immersive experience that can help alleviate stress and promote relaxation.
Besides Flow yoga, a form of Vinyasa yoga practised in most yoga studios and gyms, we provide classes in specific yoga types. We believe everyone is different, and there isn't a one-size-fits-all type of yoga. You can help students practice more often by having them try out different types of yoga: Kundalini, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Yin, Somatic yoga and Restorative yoga. You can browse and select yoga types here.
We can organise a week-long yoga discovery program with a different type of yoga every day or a different types of yoga once a week.
