I have a degree in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). I studied and passed both these qualifications whilst working full-time. I’m currently studying an MSc in Psychology and Mental Health & Wellbeing.
My yoga journey started 16 years ago. After suffering from Insomnia and bouts of Irritable Bowel Syndrome I found a 6-week Ashtanga yoga class. I thoroughly enjoyed the first class, it was a hard class to begin with, but at the end of the class I enjoyed doing relaxation (savasana). I felt rejuvenated and I slept well for the first time in years.
In 2011 I did my 200-hour yoga teacher training course with Yogahaven, Birmingham. Shortly after graduating from the course I had an aneurism, where I had brain surgery to repair a broken blood vessel on the right-hand side of my brain, this prevented me from practicing and teaching for 9 months.
After 9 months of recuperation I started to practice yoga again to strengthen my body and mind.
I teach yoga for beginners, intermediate and advanced practitioners, men and women. I am available for groups and one to ones. I cater my style of yoga according to class I am teaching, and I will always offer modifications and make adjustments when necessary. I also have certificates in Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra.
No two sessions are the same, I believe in giving yoga practitioners a challenge, I focus on where you are on your Yoga journey, keeping the classes interesting with a hint of playfulness, also motivating you to try new postures to strengthen your practice and help maintain your mental and physical abilities.
