How to create your account

Dashboard tab

Welcome to Live Yoga Teachers! We're thrilled you chose us. Here is a guide on how to get started on the platform.
Under the tab “Dashboard” you can find a list of items to check off your list:

• Create a Stripe account
• Fill in your profile
• Upload your insurance
• Upload your diploma
• Create a class
• Create a session
• Invite your students

Plans and coupons: On that tab you can also see your current subscription plan (Teacher, Master or Guru) and your coupons; coupons are for you to use with your students if you wish to offer a free class or a 20% discount. You can ask us to refresh them anytime.

To complete your profile, follow the guidelines on your dashboard. Your dashboard has several tabs: Classes, Students, Profile, Balance, Account, and Onboarding. Let's start with the "classes" tab.

Classes tab

On the classes tab you can create and edit your classes, as well as create sessions for those classes. You can also view your planned classes, past classes and your revenue per class.

When you're ready to create your first class you can follow our guidelines to create a class and sessions here.

Students Tab

On the student tab you can find the list of people who have booked your classes, as well as how many times they have booked with you. You have access to their email address in case or an emergency. Please refrain from contacting the student direct as they are already getting the platform emails. Remember that Fee avoidance is forbidden, so please only share liveyogateachers links with them (no direct video links or personal newsletters).

Profile Tab

Profile name and email

On the profile tab, use your actual First Name and Last Name, your everyday email address and your phone number. We don't accept profile names like First Name + Yoga or other brand names. Provide your everyday email address and your phone number so we can contact you when you get a booking.

Profile description

Write a unique profile description: the goal of the profile description is to let students know what to expect from a yoga class taught by you. Any information on you, your background, yoga experience and teaching style will be helpful.

> Answer questions about who you are: where you come from, how old you are, previous/current other sports or activity, previous/current professional background

> Answer questions about you and yoga: how long you’ve been doing yoga, how you started practising, how did you become a yoga teacher, who is your reference teacher, if you ever went to India, what type of yoga you teach, what is your teaching style

Do add any other wellness services you provide: massages, reiki, nutrition, sound bath…

We will use parts of your profile presentation on the teacher page, and on our social media channels and emailing :)

Location and Experience

Provide a precise location (a postcode or a city in the UK), and list out the types of yoga you're prepared to teach in “Experience".

What photo to use?

We ask for a portrait picture of you: we use the photo on your profile and a small version of it on all your classes so it is better to use a portrait rather than a picture of you practising yoga. We believe it's essential that the student can see the teacher before deciding to book a class, especially if they don't know you. So no logo, pet, flower or candle picture, please! We want you and just you.

Select a photo with high enough resolution so it doesn't look pixelated on the website but stays below 2MB, as it is the maximum photo size allowed.

Give extra care when selecting your photo - we will use it on the teacher page, on our social media channels and emailing to promote your profile :)

Please note we do not accept photos promoting other brands or websites.

YouTube video

You can embed a YouTube video on your public profile. We believe having a video can help increase the number of bookings.
Just record a short presentation video, showing the area you’ll be teaching from, introducing yourself and the type of yoga class participants can expect.
To add a presentation video, copy the link in the address bar (should start like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?...….. ) and paste it in the dedicated Youtube video field.
We’ll also be looking at ways to use those videos to promote your profile on social media.
Please note we do not accept videos promoting other brands or websites.

Please provide a phone number - we'll text you when you get a booking. Please provide your exact postcode as we'll use it to match you with private classes and corporate classes opportunities!

Private and corporate yoga classes

Tick where appropriate, and let us know if you own mats that you could use for corporate classes. We can sometimes charge clients for mats so this could be an extra revenue source for you.

For corporate classes, we first prioritise teachers on a paid plan (Guru first, then Master), then we prioritise teachers who schedule online classes on the platform, and then we offer the opportunity to teachers who have provided all the requested profile information, a yoga diploma and an insurance certificate.

When we receive a corporate request from a client, we will ask teachers for availability (and will need answers the same day) and we'll send a list of available teachers to the client for them to select the teacher they prefer for their class.

Diploma and insurance requirements:

We require a copy of your teacher training diploma. You can only upload one diploma so if you have many, you can select the most important one or the latest one. We can't publish your profile unless you have uploaded a yoga diploma. You can upload your yoga diploma in a jpeg or pdf format (Max size 2MB) in your "account" tab.

We ask yoga teachers to upload their up-to-date yoga teacher insurance certificates. Your insurance should cover online teaching. Such insurances are provided by yoga organisations like the British Wheel of Yoga or Yoga Alliance Professionals or private insurances like insure4sports or Fitpro.

Please upload a valid insurance and renew it every year. We can't publish your profile unless you have an up-to-date insurance. You can upload your insurance certificate in a jpeg or pdf format in your "account" tab (Max size 2MB). Please also enter your expiry date so we can remind you to update your insurance.

Embed tab

Do you have a website? Use these two lines of code from the embed tab to your website to display your Live Yoga Teachers schedule! People can click and book safely on the platform. All you need to do is edit the page you'd like to have your schedule on, access the HTML and paste the lines of code. We recommend using Squarespace or Wordpress.org to use it, it's also working for Wix, but it's not responsive.
