Natasha May
I've always been playful, interested in human emotions and behaviour, fascinated and captured by others, and the exploration of the body. Most days I am running on energy and creative expression through prose, performing or painting. I love cycling, wild swimming and walking with my friends in the woods. I am a motivator amongst my circle and peers at work in my administrative day job.
I've come to the realisation that yoga has always been present within my soul. Daily I notice the poetry and beauty in nature and in others. We can learn so much by being present.
I began an intensive week and term of yoga at University studying Theatre in 2012. I followed the 2nd series of Ashtanga Yoga. I became glued to this idea that my body and the breath could heal me. That's when I became more conscious of nutrition. What we feed ourselves feeds our well-being and our consciousness.
I explored countless yoga classes and sent myself to Bodo in Norway to complete a weekend yoga course. Alone, I didn't speak the language, and late to a class, I was guided to a mountain with a view of the endless ocean, I cried, and decided it was time to take a step. Then in November 2016 I completed my Yoga Teacher Training in Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha and Pranayama in Bali, Indonesia. One word - amazing!
I am happily 200-hour Certified and Insured. My yoga style is calm, guided and energetically-activating. My voice is soft and gentle. I also like to explore Om'ing in my classes.
Since then I have been diving deep into my psyche with healing practises and therapy. Meditation has seen me through most days, and whilst I still practise Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga is where my bodily make-up sits contentedly. Who knows? Maybe I'll get qualified!
My favourite yogi hobby is sitting with my breath. This is what we can rely on every day.
