Kaivalya - Liberation and Inner Freedom - that's the goal of yoga!
I am a longstanding student of Yoga. After many years of practice, I qualified as a British Wheel of Yoga teacher (500 hours) Advanced Diploma, BWY Pranayama and Meditation modules. I am also a Somatic Movement Educator in the lineage of Thomas Hanna (Feldenkrais inspired).
In my classes I encourage you to feel your body moving according to its needs and cultivating awareness of your physical, emotional, mental patterns.
Classes vary and are usually based on a theme and on students' needs. I will guide you using approaches such as Hatha Yoga, Scaravelli Inspired Yoga, Pilates inspired core work, somatics movement, breath awareness (pranayama) , Yoga nidra (deep relaxation) meditation, underpinned by yogic philosophy.
My practice and teaching continue to evolve and I attend regular CPD courses and satsangs.
My yoga practice has helped me manage anxiety, depression, fatigue, inflammation and mild rhumatoid arthritis, child rearing, bereavement, trauma – basically, the strains and stresses of being human!
