
Cathy Tong
I am a longstanding student of Yoga. After many years of practice, I qualified as a British Wheel of Yoga teacher (500 hours) Advanced Diploma, BWY Pranayama and Meditation modules. I am also a Somatic Movement Educator in the lineage of Thomas Hanna.
In my classes I encourage you to feel your body moving according to its needs and cultivating awareness of your physical, emotional, mental patterns.
I will guide you using gentle approaches such as Hatha Yoga, Scaravelli Inspired Yoga, Somatics, breath awareness (pranayama) , Yoga nidra (deep relaxation) and meditation and mindfulness.
My practice and teaching continue to evolve. I completed a Somatic Movement Education teacher training based on the work of Thomas Hanna and Feldenkrais - practices which are key at releasing chronic tensions. I have integrated all of this I am happy to share this with you wherever you happen to be on your yoga journey.
For my own development as a student of yoga, I continue to attend regular courses and satsangs.
My yoga practice has helped me deal with anxiety, depression, fatigue, inflammation and mild rhumatoid arthritis, child rearing, bereavement – basically, the strains and stresses of being human!
