Free Yoga for Menopause Class on September 18 at 10 am

October is Menopause Awareness Month, a time dedicated to shedding light on a significant life transition that affects so many. It's a chance to talk openly, share experiences, and find supportive ways to navigate this new chapter. With September 18th marking World Menopause Awareness Day, we want to contribute to the conversation and offer something genuinely helpful.

Many women may not realise they are in perimenopause because the symptoms can be so varied and subtle. There are over 50 recorded symptoms, and because oestrogen receptors are present throughout the body, this transition affects your whole system, from your sleep to your mood and physical comfort.

That’s why we’re inviting you to join our free yoga for menopause class. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see for yourself how this gentle practice can make a real difference.

Why Yoga Can Be Your Ally During Menopause and Peri-Menopause

Menopause can bring a host of changes, including hot flushes, anxiety, sleepless nights, and joint stiffness. Yoga offers a holistic approach to managing these symptoms, helping you reconnect with your body and calm your mind.

Our dedicated yoga for menopause teacher, Caroline Butler, has a deep understanding of how to adapt practices to support you through this time. Here’s what she says about using yoga to help with menopause symptoms:

“Yoga is recommended by the NHS as a supportive practice during perimenopause and menopause because it helps calm the nervous system. This matters, as stress is known to make almost all symptoms worse — from hot flushes to poor sleep and emotional ups and downs. You may already have a yoga practice, but this stage of life can be a time to reassess which aspects truly support you and which may leave you feeling depleted.

Menopause Yoga, developed by Petra Coveney with whom I trained, builds on this by focusing on specific symptoms and offering tailored postures, breath practices, and relaxation techniques. Each class is centred around a theme — such as anxiety and overwhelm, fatigue, or hot emotions — and is designed as a practice to support those symptoms. Restorative elements are woven into almost every class, helping to counter the tiredness that so many women experience. At its heart, Menopause Yoga encourages discernment, guiding women to adapt their practice and choose what best supports them, both on and off the mat. It is suitable for those completely new to yoga, while also offering a new level of awareness to women who may have been practising for years.””

How to Prepare for the Class

To get the most out of our session, we recommend finding a quiet space where you can move freely.

We will be practising on a yoga mat. The class will include some restorative poses, so it would be good to have a bolster and blankets to get comfortable. Yoga straps and blocks are also useful, but please don’t worry if you don’t have them. Just bring what you have, and we can always adapt the poses. The most important thing is that you show up for yourself.

Ready to Sign Up?

Taking part is simple. Just provide your name and email in the form below, and we’ll send your personal voucher to book the class for free.

We look forward to welcoming you to the mat and sharing this supportive practice with you.
